- 3 tablespoons of cooking oil
Instructions:
Once you have gathered all of the necessary ingredients, follow these simple steps:
- Blend the shallots, garlic, dried chillies, lemongrass, ginger, galangal, turmeric powder, salt and sugar together until it forms a smooth paste.
- Heat up the cooking oil in a wok or pot and sauté the paste for 5 minutes until it becomes fragrant.
- Add in the beef and stir well, making sure that the meat is coated with the paste.
- Next, add in the coconut milk and kaffir lime leaves and stir well.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the beef simmer for 2-3 hours until the sauce thickens and the beef becomes tender. Make sure to stir occasionally to prevent the beef from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
- Once the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened, the Rendang Daging is ready to be served!
